JD.com Leads Investment in Spirit AI’s RMB 600M Pre-A+ Round with Strong Follow-On Backing
Spirit AI, a leading embodied AI company, has secured nearly RMB 600 million in its Pre-A+ funding round. The investment was led by JD.com, with participation from China Internet Investment Fund, Zhejiang Science and Technology Innovation Mother Fund, Huatai PCPD Investment, and Fosun Rz Capital.
Notably, multiple existing investors—including Shunwei Capital, China-Central Healthcare Fund, Zhuhai Sci-Tech Innovation Group, Qiansheng Capital, Jingya Capital, and Honghui Fund—increased their stakes, underscoring continued confidence in the company’s vision and execution.
The round was advised exclusively by Gaohu Capital. Beyond capital, the investment reinforces Spirit AI’s leading position in embodied AI and will accelerate R&D and real-world application through deeper industry-investor collaboration.

Investor Confidence: Strength Across Technology, Strategy, and Execution
Spirit AI’s integrated approach—combining cutting-edge AI research, hardware engineering, and scalable product strategy—has attracted leading strategic and financial investors.
The company adopts a use-case-driven development model, with teams conducting on-the-ground research across manufacturing and service sectors to turn practical challenges into product features. This ensures technology is built with commercialization in mind.
The founding team brings together expertise in AI, robotics, and business-building, enabling streamlined progress from lab to production—a key bottleneck in the robotics industry.

Technical Advancements: Introducing Moz1, a Force-Controlled Humanoid Robot with Embodied AI
In June 2025, Spirit AI launched Moz1, a full-force-controlled humanoid robot equipped with its in-house developed VLA model. As China’s first high-performance robot with whole-body force control, Moz1 achieves multiple hardware breakthroughs: 26 degrees of freedom, the world’s highest power-density integrated torque-controlled joints, top-tier whole-body control (WBC) algorithms, and a 1:1 payload-to-weight ratio. The robot also supports real-time teleoperation and efficient data collection via self-developed multi-dimensional acquisition devices, enabling hourly model iteration.
At the AI level, Spirit AI’s proprietary VLA model—Spirit v1—has been continuously upgraded. It can accurately perform office tasks such as desk organization, trash disposal, and chair repositioning, improving multi-scene applicability. This integrated approach of hardware innovation and AI evolution forms Spirit AI’s core technical barrier in embodied AI. With its unique integration of software and hardware, Spirit AI not only drives technological innovation but also provides a practical path toward large-scale commercial adoption of embodied AI.

Investor Perspective: Embodied AI Nearing Critical Phase of Industrial Adoption
On June 17, Guojin Securities stated in a research report that embodied AI is entering a critical industrial adoption phase, as the “AI brain” of robots matures and challenges related to data, reasoning, and control in vertical applications are gradually resolved. There is growing consensus in the industry: as core technical capabilities improve and application scenarios become better defined, embodied AI is moving from the lab to industrial settings. Practical, scenario-based validation of commercial value has become a key competitive factor.
Han Fengtao, Founder and CEO of Spirit AI, said: “We are grateful for our investors’ support. The participation of major industrial and financial partners reflects not only confidence in Spirit AI, but also a broad consensus regarding the future of embodied AI. Moving forward, we will continue to pursue a dual strategy of technological breakthrough and real-world application. We are committed to advancing our VLA model and enhancing hardware performance, while also accelerating industrial adoption through high-value scenarios.”
The successful funding round provides Spirit AI with both capital and industrial resources. The company will increase investment in VLA model development and hardware upgrades while building a robust system for industrial delivery and expanding into diverse application scenarios—consolidating its leadership in embodied AI through technical and commercial advancement.
